Frequently Asked Questions
We will continue to update this page as questions are raised.
We have secured a hotel block at Tamarindo Diria. For more details on the hotel or other accomodations, please see the Travel & Stay page. You can find the link to the hotel block reservation portal in the email containing your Save The Date. If you have trouble locating the link, please reach out to either Jayson or Shanell.
We recommend flying into Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR). The other airport (Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO)) is a 4-5 hour drive away from the wedding destination. We do not recommend flying into/out of SJO unless you plan to visit other parts of Costa Rica before/after the wedding.
Yes, you need a valid passport to travel to Costa Rica. Please make sure to apply for a passport or renew your passport if it’s expired or going to expire soon. For more information on passports and visas for other nationalities, please click here.
For instructions on how to apply for a US passport or renew a passport, please click here. Processing times for US passports are currently estimated at 6-8 weeks. Do not wait until the last minute!
We recommend keeping an eye on flights and purchasing when you feel the price is right. A general rule of thumb is to purchase your flight about 6 months in advance and flying midweek which usually provides a cheaper ticket. Great deals can also be scored by booking about 1-2 months before. During the time of booking, you will be asked to enter passport info. If you have not obtained your passport yet, don’t worry, this can be entered while checking in for your flight at the airport. Check out our Travel & Stay page for a list of websites that monitor flight deals!
No, the wedding venue is Pangas Beach Club, which is ~5 minutes from Tamarindo Diria (the recommended hotel).
We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests at this time. Please check the name(s) on your invitation. We look forward to celebrating with you on the day, and hope to spend time with your families and significant others in the future!
Yes! Please check out the Event Details page for our tentative schedule. We want you to still enjoy your stay in the best way that suits you, so feel free to pick and choose the events that you’d like to attend.
As of right now, Costa Rica is completely open to visitors from the U.S. and Canada, and there are no requirements for visitors. The wedding ceremony and reception will be outside in open-air.
For information on recommended vaccinations prior to travel, please click here.
If you are traveling to Costa Rica from certain countries in either South America or sub-Saharan Africa, you will be required to show proof of Yellow Fever vaccination at the airport when you enter Costa Rica. For a list of at-risk countries please click here.
Not necessarily, this is up to you but would caution that some roads in Costa Rica can be difficult to drive on. Once in Tamarindo, you can either walk, rent a car/bike, or take a cab to wherever you would like to go. All hotels offer some sort of shuttle service at the front desk for just a few dollars. We have arranged a shuttle service for our guests to get to and from the wedding venue on our big day.
Please check out the Dress Code page.
